What do the Newcomers do?

Each month there is a Coffee Meeting with an informational program.

Each month September through May there is a planned luncheon at a local venue. The food and ambiance vary but there are always lots of friendly folks interested in having a good time.  Some lunches include entertainment such as fashion shows or musical performances.

We have many special interest groups including:

The Beach walkers group called A WALK ON THE BEACH.  They walk approximately 3 miles in the early morning and have all different speeds of walkers.  On Fridays they go to breakfast after walking.

The DINING DIVAS enjoy monthly dinners out at local restaurants and each other's company.  New ladies are always welcome.

The THEATER GROUP meets twice a year and chooses a show to see each month. They then buy the tickets for those interested in attending and go as a group. Performances can be drama, comedy, musical, etc.

DESIGNING DIVAS is a loosely organized group interested in interior designs.  We visit design shopping centers, fabric districts, showcase houses etc.  There is not necessarily a planned activity for every month.

The GARDEN GROUP generally has an outing each month. They may visit specialty nurseries, botanical gardens, private gardens, plant shows or other venues.

The ANTIQUES GROUP meets monthly for a program that may be a tour at a historical site, a talk by an authority in a specialty field, or members sharing their special antiques and collectibles.

For those who enjoy some form of needlework, the NEEDLEWORK GROUP meets to stitch and socialize. Some members work on projects that will be donated to various charities.

TLC QUILTERS all enjoy creating quilts or stuffed toys. They meet every other month to share their products, which are donated to children in need who live in North County.

Many CARD AND GAME GROUPS exist at Newcomers including bridge, pinochle, hand and foot, mah jong, bunko, tennis and golf. Each group has its own schedule and rules but all are designed to be fun.

Multiple BOOK GROUPS (eight at last count) meet for discussion and conversation. All have their unique focus and schedule.  There is an annual luncheon with speaker where children’s books are collected for donation.

If you have a special interest that aligns with the group’s charter and are willing to organize a new group, contact us for the club's Board of Directors consideration.
