The Carlsbad Newcomers Club has been operating in Carlsbad, California for 40 years bringing new friends, social activities and opportunities to support the community to all members. So, if you are new to Carlsbad or have been here awhile and now want to meet new people and participate in new activities, the Carlsbad Newcomers Club could be just what you are looking for.From our by-laws:
Purpose
The Carlsbad Newcomers Club is organized to support social, educational and charitable activities.
Objectives
- To provide an opportunity for members to become acquainted with others in the community.
- To provide an atmosphere of friendliness, goodwill, and helpful information for Carlsbad Newcomers Club members.
- To undertake and promote charitable and humanitarian projects within the community.
- To form enduring friendships.
You can reach us through the "Contact Us" page. Even better, join us at our monthly Coffee Meeting held the first Wednesday of each month at Heritage Hall in Magee Park at 2650 Garfield Avenue. Socializing begins at 9:45. The meeting begins at 10:15. Upcoming activities are highlighted and a guest speaker presents a program.
Newcomers is a non-profit 501(c)(04) organization and not a charity. However, over the last several years Newcomers has supported the local community with donations to; the Women’s Resource Center, Jefferson Elementary School, Buena Vista Elementary School, Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad, the Carlsbad Christmas Bureau, La Posada de Guadalupe and Casa de Amparo. Fund-raisers are fun social activities with lots of opportunity to get to know new friends better.
Many activities are available including book clubs, theater outings, card games, sports, needlework, and special interest groups. See the "Activities" page for more details. If you have a special interest that aligns with the group’s charter and are willing to organize a new group, contact us for the club's Board of Directors consideration.
The club maintains a Resource File to aid members in locating service providers. Those on file are recommended by happy users in the club.
